Management Leadership for Tomorrow’s [NAME Black Equity @ Work/Black Equity Workplace Certification/etc…] is a first-of-its-kind certification that provides a roadmap for achieving a racially equitable workplace for black [professionals/Americans].
The first of MLT’s [Racial Equity @Work/Racial Equity That Works] certification series, [Black Equity @ Work] [the Black Equity Workplace Certification] leverages an alliance of top employers, institutional investors, and ratings agencies to build an ecosystem for sustainable change. The certification establishes the standard for what good looks like in diversity plans and policies.
MLT certified Black Equity workplans are based on five core pillars:

Increasing Black representation at every level of the organization, from the board of directors and executive leadership, to middle management and exempt and non-exempt employees, with organizations that benefit disproportionately from Black talent or consumers expected to aim higher than the 12.3% of the U.S. population that is Black.
An organizational plan, including intentional, ongoing training and activities that help Board, leadership, management, and employees move toward being anti-racist, and measures to continually identify and address specific areas to improve the Black employee experience.
Elimination of compensation inequities between Black and White employees in similar roles, increased representation of Black employees in high compensation roles, and improved compensation and benefits for positions in which Black employees tend to be
overrepresented.
Increasing utilization of Black-owned business suppliers and vendors, requiring suppliers and vendors to develop Black Equity Workplace plans, ensuring brand names, marketing, and advertising messages and images do not perpetuate racism, and addressing racist business practices (e.g., profiling or demeaning treatment of Black customers).
Significant annual investments in organizations or initiatives and advocacy for specific policies and investments that address racial injustice within the communities where organizations do business and are important civic leaders.
